Namibian President Tests Positive For Covid-19

WINDHOEK – The President of Namibia Hage Geingob and his wife Monica Geingob have tested positive for Covid-19, ENN reports.

This development was confirmed through an official statement by the office of the President on Thursday morning. The president and his wife are in high spirits and have been isolated at their residency pending recovery.

As of 27 May 2021, Namibia has recorded 53,603 positive Covid-19 cases. A total of 49,596 recoveries and 789 casualties were recorded accordingly. The country has administered at least 69 765 doses of Covid-19 to date. This translates to 1.4% of the country’s population, assuming that each individual received 2 doses of the COVID-19 vaccine.
