HARARE-Zimbabwe’s Minister of Mines Winston Chitando said on Wednesday Chinese firm Anjin Investments and Russia’s Alrosa Diamonds have commenced production in Chiadzwa.
Anjin, alongside Mbada Diamonds, Marange Resources, Diamond Mining Company, Kusena, Gye Nyame and DTZ Ozgeo, was kicked out of Chiadzwa in 2016 on allegations of prejudicing the government of millions in diamond revenue through understating earnings and not declaring dividends. Government subsequently merged all concessions, except those held by Anjin, to form the Zimbabwe Consolidated Diamond Company.
