GAZA -Thirty-five people have been killed in Gaza following an overnight escalation of tensions between Israel and Harmas, ENN reports. The clashes also claimed five lives in Israel in the early hours of Wednesday following an array of air strikes by Israelites in Gaza, which led to the collapse and damage of several buildings. This was followed by rocket barrages fired at Tel Aviv and Beersheba by Palestinian militants.
After this casualty, the United Nations Middle East peace envoy Tor Wennesland called on all leaders to take responsibility in stopping the attacks before the situation degenerates into a full-scale war. “Stop the fire immediately. We are escalating towards a full-scale war”, Tor Wennesland was quoted saying. Wennesland further intimated that the cost of war in Gaza is devastating and is being paid by ordinary people. “UN is working all sides to restore calm, stop violence now”, Wennesland further said as he moved in to de-escalate the Middle East tensions.
