The United States secretary Antony Blinken pledged a further US$713 to help Ukraine in its war effort.
“We want to see Ukraine remain a sovereign country, able to protect IRS sovereign territory. We want to see Russia weakened to the point where it can not do things like invading Ukraine.” The US defence chief said.
Tony Blinken, the secretary of the state added that the US had put in place a strategy of massive support for Ukraine and massive pressure against Russia.
Since Russia invaded Ukraine on 24 February 2022, the United States has supplied more than US$3.7 billion worth of arms to Ukraine.
The US assistance is also intended to help Ukraine’s armed forces transition to more advanced weapons and air defence systems.
Meanwhile, officials confirmed that oil tanks at a depot in the city of Bryansk, about 110km (70 miles ) from the border with Ukraine have caught fire.
The cause of the fire is not clear as videos that circulated on social media showed huge flames and plumes of smoke against the night sky.
NASA satellites that track fire show a burning fire at coordinates that correspond to a Rosnet facility.
