HWANGE – The Zimbabwe Power Company (ZPC) has joined hands with Hwange Electricity Supply Company (HESCO) and Hwange Local Board (HLB) to construct more than 600 residential houses in Hwange, ENN reports.
This development was confirmed by Hwange Local Board secretary Ndumiso Mdlalose last week. “We are aware of the importance of this project and we are partnering these two companies in making sure it’s completed possibly with fewer hitches or none”, said Mdlalose.
“Where we are required or mandated to action we will do so. Our commitment to having this project off is unquestionable, ” Ndumiso Mdlalose further said as the local board committed to the delivery of world-class housing development through this tripartite partnership. Already, the Zimbabwe National Water Authority has commenced the laying of a pipeline and reservoir constructions for water supplies into the new settlement. The opening of access roads to the area is set to begin soon.
Upon completion of the housing project, ZPC will relocate residents of Ingagula suburb affected by noise from power generations to this new development.
HLB also allocated other entities residential stands in Mpumalanga Phase 7, including FBC Bank, Zambezi Gas, South Mining (Private) Ltd and OK Zimbabwe.
